Painted Bike Lanes on Kitsap Way

In July of 2022, Bremerton painted bicycle lanes on Kitsap Way from Highway 3 to Callow Avenue. The bright green paint gives cyclists a more defined path of where to ride while better alerting motorists of where cyclists will be. Paul Dutky and Dianne Iverson, West Sound Cycle Club advocacy chairs, provided extensive support for this project. They conducted outreach in the community, measured streets, and provided design information to the City of Bremerton based on their extensive research of cycling safety measures that have proved effective in other cities and towns.
